What are the government office hours?

Town Hall is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Monday through Friday.  Town Hall closes from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. for lunch each day.

Public Works and Utility Billing is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at 200 Sycamore Street.  The Utility Billing Window closes from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. for lunch each day.

How Do I Rent the Murfree Center

To rent the Murfree Center, call Town Hall at 252-398-5904 to check for availability. 

The in-town rate for the Center is $200 rent and $200 security deposit.  The outside-of-town rate for the Center is $250 rent and $200 security deposit.

Rental is available on a first come first serve basis.  All rental and deposit fees must be paid prior to the rental being finalized.

Keys for the Murfree Center may be picked up on the day of rental at 8 a.m. from the Police Dispatcher and must be returned to the Police Dispatcher by not later than 1 a.m. 

When Does Town Council Meet?

Town Council meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers located in Town Hall at 105 E. Broad Street.

The Planning Board meets on the third Monday of each month at 1 p.m. in Council Chambers located at 105 E. Broad Street.
